We are volunteers from the Greater Toronto Area of Huntington Society of Canada (HSC), a national network of volunteers and staff professionals who:
help people affected by Huntington disease (HD)
raise awareness of Huntington disease and educate the public about it
fundraise for HD research and for services for those affected by HD
advocate to end genetic discrimination in Canada

Chapter events and fundraising activity (charitable registration # 11896 5516 RR0001) since inception in 1997 has netted over $750,000 after expenses. The chapter's goal is to raise $1,000,000.
Run and Hike for Huntington Disease next= June 23, 2013: 5k/10k run, 5k hike. Canada's largest event in support of the Society in 2012. Volunteers raise awareness of Huntington disease and promote the event at 30+ Running Room stores across Ontario. Running Room magazine May/June 2013 and Mar/Apr 2010 published articles.

the Society's signature Amaryllis campaign selling growing kits containing high-quality orange sovereign Amaryllis bulbs - see www.inspirehope.ca
TeamHD.ca events including the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon - see www.teamhd.ca
Toronto hosted the 2012 Huntington Society of Canada National Conference, where 27 recipients from across Canada received the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for their significant contributions to the Society, the Huntington disease community and Canada, including Huntington Society of Canada co-founder, Ariel Walker.
